Stampin'Up! has announced an exciting change in the colors they offer. What once were the "Color Families" will now be "Color Collections" and there are a lot of changes. I am so excited that some of the former "In-colors" will be returning in these new Color Collections. Also, there are a lot of fresh new colors. This change over will happen with the new Stampin'Up! Idea Book and Catalog coming at the end of June. I can't wait! So here are the changes.........

Well I know I haven't posted in a while and I want to apologize. I've been pretty sick and have been unable to get samples together to share. I am working through it and promise some goodies soon. I will have to post-pone TADA Tuesdays for another week so that I can catch my breath. Thank you for understanding!!

On a brighter note we have a crop on this coming Saturday the 7th! I hope to get a lot of fun projects completed and spend some time with fellow stampers and scrapbookers.

You can do WHAT with the Scallop Envelop Die?

I can't take credit for coming up with this idea, I've seen it on a couple other sites but I had to try it out. The box was actually made by my dear neighbor Natalie, who came over to put together some favors one day this summer. She did all of the die cutting and adhering, I did the decorating. We make a pretty good team! It takes 4 envelopes to make this box. You adhere them side to side (along the scored edges), then fold the bottom together (no adhesive there) and you've got a really cute little box. Ingredients for this box:

Stamp Set: Pocket Silhouettes, Razzle Dazzle

Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Whisper White, Melon Mambo

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry

Tools: Big Shot, Scallop Envelope Die, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Paper Crimper (for paper stuffing inside box), Sticky Strip

Diaper Favor Step By Step Directions

Here are the steps to make the diaper fold favor I posted earlier this week. The steps are actually very simple and there is NO ADHESIVE needed! FYI our SU! DSP is perfect for these favors. Plus, you can get 4 favors out of 1 sheet of 12x12 DSP!! Talk about cost effective. You definitely need double sided paper for this favor. Check out our DSP here and get some today.

Step 1. Fold a 6x6 peice of DSP into a triangle. Step 2. Fold one triangle point to the middle of the other side (you want the open end of the triangle up)

Step 3. Fold the other triangle point to the middle of the other side.

Step 4. Fold back the open end of the triangle over the two "arms" to secure them in place. Step 5. Push the sides in to give the pockett shape.
Step 6. Fill a small celophane bag with a treat, tie it with some matching ribbon, add a tag and VOILA! You've got a totally cute favor!

These make great favors for showers, birthdays, parties, church gatherings, anniversaries, thank yous, holiday gifts around the office or holiday party favors. There are no limits! Remember you can purchase all the ingredients at my Stampin'UP! Website.

A Little Teacher Thanks

I always love the start to a new school year, I guess it's the nerd in me but there's something about a fresh start. My son is in daycare and I so appreciate all the love his teachers give him while I'm teaching other little ones. I know it's a little early, but I start school tomorrow (I teach Kindergarten) and won't be able to post in the morning. So, I'm giving you a head start! Our challenge is......(drum roll)............

My husband gave me some beautiful Gerber Daisies to celebrate my summer crop event. Since we're all thinking back to school and fall thought I thought it would be nice to get on last taste of summer in as Labor Day quickly approaches! I'll post my sample tomorrow, but I can't wait to see how you use this inspiration. Remember it can be anything you want, the fun is to see what other people see in the challenge. Have Fun!

Spooky Halloween Forest

I know we agreed more Holiday Cards, but there are MANY holidays so I'm going to say that Halloween will count! I just love Halloween's color combo's. I used no Halloween stamp sets for this card. I simply used Halloween colors and did a lot of shading with my basic black stamp pad and a sponge to give the forest an ere look. What do you think? I just LOVE this Medallion stamp. You can do so much with just one stamp. Here I made a very simple card with the Medallion stamped as the background. I jazzed it up a little with a sentiment and some punches, but this could have easily stayed with just the stamped medallion, hmm.......

The Evolution of a Card

When I create a card I don't always LOVE the first one I make. It is usually a process for me to create a card that I'm satisfied with. So last night I made the first card you see here. It's very simple but has some nice elements. I felt like it need more and so I made the second one this morning. As you can see they are very similar, but the 2ND one is a little more involved and in my opinion more interesting. I love how an idea of a card can evolve. I could very easily sit down and make changes to the second one!

Quick, Cute Christmas Cards

I love using the big scallop circle die to make cards. I used it for my TADA Tuesday challenge and now here it is again with a SNEAK PEAK from our Holiday mini catalog coming September 1st. I used our new ornament punch, new double stitched ribbon and new Serene Snowflakes stamp set. I first stamped the Serene Snowflakes and then punched them out with the ornament punch. The colors are Bashful Blue, Real Red and Whisper White. Enjoy!

Today's Summer Crop

This was such a fun and exciting day! A great group of ladies scrapbooked and stamped projects in all shapes and sizes at the crop today. This crop benefited my church and I was so happy that everyone enjoyed their day together. We had 2 make and take cards which were fabulous plus great food and fun. We also had a mystery hostess drawling and our winner will receive one free stamp set and $40 in FREE merchandise from the Stampin'UP! catalog. What a great day! This is just a taste of Halloween! I used our Decor Elements jack'O lantern faces to create this very simple Halloween decoration. With just a $4 hurricane I made a unique decoration that can serve many purposes. Here it's holding candy, but it could easily hold a candle or anything else you can cook up for Halloween. This is really a simple and affordable way to update your home. I love our Decor Elements!

Tall Tails DSP Notebooks!

I had to share one more project from my Children's Party. This paper is SO CUTE and it has so many possible uses. Here I covered a black and white composition book (50cents) with the Tall Tales paper. I simply measured the front and back covers and then glued on the paper with our Tombow adhesive that holds like a charm. These were the boys party favors and they loved getting their own journal. This was such an affordable, easy and cute party favor. I will totally use this again. Just think of how versatile this paper is and how far you can stretch your money! Enjoy!

Animal Stories Fun

I had a fun party yesterday with some 5 & 6 year old boys. We explored card making and used our imaginations to come up with truly original and kid driven artwork. This sample is one of my inspiration creations I brought to the party. The boys had a lot of fun playing with the fun Tall Tales DSP and Animal Stories stamp set. The boys even learned how to make their own mini books! I had so much fun!

Good morning! This is a simple gift that can be used in almost any situation. I used a simple acrylic frame turned on it's side so where you would put the image is the slope. Then I cut our fabulous Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper (DSP) to size and added some fun scallop circles cut from the Big Shot.
